Service, installation and upgrades to communication networks for industrial, retail & service industry

Join Our Team

Seeking:

Entry-Level Field Service Technician.

If you are comfortable on ladders, in attics, and with basic tools, have a knack for troubleshooting and understand the importance of great customer service, then we would love to have you join our team.

Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn?  We would be happy to lead you into becoming a senior technician.

Employment Type:

This position will start as part‑time (approximately 2 days per week). The intention is to grow this into full‑time as training progresses and workload increases. Workdays are negotiable and scheduled in advance based on our workload and availability with a 6-hour/day minimum guarantee.

About the Role:

We’re a growing field service business specializing in the commercial, industrial and agricultural low‑voltage world. We troubleshoot and improve the low voltage systems businesses rely on every day. These include IT networks, camera systems, Wi-Fi, and cellular boosters.

Although based in the Annapolis Valley, NS, our work takes us throughout the province and occasionally beyond. The majority of our work is within a 2‑hour radius.

Almost every day starts and stops at home. Due to the nature of our clients, there are occasional very early mornings or nighttime jobs (we have stayed overnight in extreme situations). Outside of emergency callouts, any work outside normal hours is always scheduled ahead of time.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, working independently, and learning new systems and skills.  Experience in low voltage or technical setting is a bonus but not required. We are happy to train the right person. This is not a desk job — you’ll be on ladders, in crawlspaces, and working in a variety of rural and business environments for a wide range of clients. You must be comfortable working on ladders up to 24 ft, using scissor lifts, and lifting 50–75 lbs.

What You’ll Do (Once trained).

If you are mechanically inclined and comfortable with tools and troubleshooting, you can learn all of this. If you don’t have the technical skills yet, we can teach you.

  • Install and service camera systems, Wi‑Fi networks, routers, and cellular boosters
  • Run and terminate Cat5e/Cat6 cabling with clean workmanship
  • Troubleshoot a variety of IT issues and offer low-voltage solutions to improve client workspaces.
  • Complete jobs independently once trained
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
  • Follow established standards and procedures
  • Represent the company with reliability and integrity
  • Typical work is between 8am–5pm, with occasional early mornings or night work (always scheduled ahead of time). Rarely, there may be an emergency callout when on‑call.

What We’re Looking For - Must‑have qualities (non‑negotiable):

  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work and travel safely (company vehicle provided)
  • Coachable — willing to learn our methods and standards
  • Takes pride in clean, professional work
  • Comfortable working alone (once fully trained) or with the owner
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset
  • Comfortable with ladders, attics, crawlspaces, and physical work
  • Respectful, honest, and client‑focused
  • No ego, no drama, no shortcuts
  • Willingness to learn — we work with a wide variety of equipment, and training is ongoing (both formal and on‑the‑job)
  • Professionalism and discretion — we work in many professional environments with a wide range of clients

What you’ll learn:

  • Customer-focused service as it relates to low‑voltage, field service, telecom and networking
  • How to run cable, terminate RJ45, and mount hardware
  • Low-voltage and network related troubleshooting
  • Basic concepts of networking (IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi‑Fi)
  • How to read simple floor plans or network diagrams
  • How to work with and follow instructions given by 3rd party IT phone support

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly and overtime pay based on experience
  • Respect for work‑life balance
  • Paid training and mentorship
  • All tools and materials provided
  • A stable, respectful work environment
  • Clear expectations and consistent workflow
  • Opportunity to grow into a lead technician role

This Job Is NOT For:

  • People who would rather do it fast than do it right
  • People who feel the need to argue with clients or supervisors
  • People who want to “do it their own way” instead of following standards
  • People who are not punctual or committed to completing the job they start
  • People who want a desk job or indoor‑only work
  • People who want to start their own competing business
  • People afraid of hard work

If this sounds like you, we’d be happy to meet and see if we can work together. We’re more than willing to mentor someone with a great attitude.
